The Artel is accepting exhibition submissions for our spring/summer programming schedule. The Artel is a collective-run art space which hosts a variety of artistic activity in Kingston including, but not limited to, exhibitions, poetry readings, life drawing, concerts and screenings. The Artel Collective has a mandate to both create, and provide support for, art that the public would not otherwise be able to access easily in Kingston. Our collective operating structure and co-habitation model intends to promote a philosophy of “art as a way of life” and “creativity in all things.”

We are closing out our exhibition, “This Is Not About Your Missing Dog: A Recent History of Poster Art in Kingston” and we’d love to see you out for one last chance to view the work. There will be ARTIST TALKS and SNACKS to entertain you.

Also, we’ve made a book about the exhibition! It features 38 full colour pages of some of our favourite posters, and a sweeeeeet cover designed by Benjamin Nelson (see images below). 25 copies will be available for purchase.
