Woodhands: Official Site | MySpace “When meek-looking BC expat Dan Werb, the cracked mind behind openers Woodhands , came onstage sporting nerdy glasses and what looked like his bar mitzvah suit, then hunkered down behind a bank of Korgs, effects pedals and wire-spewing consoles, visions of electronic Suzuki recitals danced in my head. Thirty seconds in, those expectations were shot to shit.” – Now Magazine

New paintings from Sharon Muilwyk explore the space of in-between. Muilwyk determines the in-between as a state of change–the constant transformation that occurs when one thing becomes something else. Through the medium of paint, Muilwyk explores the in-between of order:disorder, urban:rural, man:nature, past:present, lost:found, rational:irrational, real:abstract. Her images are inspired by the visual memories of places she has experienced throughout her own evolution and her relationship with nature over time. Reception: Saturday, November 17th, 7-9pm |
