Unclog those tubes of fake blood, and iron that superhero cape from 2004, The Artel is hosting Halloween on Saturday October 28th. ARTHELL is a fundraiser for The Artel, a non-profit emerging artist residence and venue presenting art exhibits and performance events by Kingston artists since spring 2006. Don’t be caught unaware, come prepared to bump and grind to the electronic beats of pop sensation the Idiots! and the phenomenal one-man rock of McRorie Live Electronic! THERE IS LIMITED SPACE AVAILABLE. Buy your ticket by 8pm to make sure you don’t miss out on the music or in seeing The Artel decked out for the occasion, Haunted House style!
Idiots! (Roey Shemesh and Howie Goldbach) hail from the hell fires of Toronto. With steroid strong songwriting and superbly crafted pop melody, Idiots! mesh vocals, electric bass and guitar with synthesizers and drum loops. They welcome friendship between electronic and organic sound, but curse the stone feet of those who do not dance. Dance, Zombies, DANCE! The duo recently released their first E.P., “Spring is Hereâ€, on MATAPOP Records (Detroit).
You’ve got to see this to believe it!
McRorie Live Electronic (Stuart McRorie Tait) brings his infectious sound of drum, bass, rhythm, and lead instruments to ARTHELL, using electronic synth and sensor technology strapped to and powered by his body! Wearing eight piezo sensors on his shoes, four transducers on his shirt, two 3G sensors on his armbands, two midi controllers on his hips, two tilt sensors on his shoulders, and singing lead vocals, harmonies, and solo instruments with his astonishingly versatile voice, McRorie blows the old concept of the one-man band into the stratosphere. Playing your favorites from “the 80s, 90s and todayâ€, as well as compositions all his own, McRorie has performed with and opened for prominent acts across North America (just ask BECK). For more insider information visit www.mcrorie.net. Capable of stadium sound, McRorie will tone it down for his ARTHELL performance, but be prepared for classic rock and a two projector light show on special order for the wicked and weird that come to shake their booties.
